Cities on the Edge
Cities on the Edge (CoTE) is a unique partnership of six European cities: Liverpool, Bremen, Gdansk, Istanbul, Marseilles and Naples.
It is a major strand of our cultural celebrations during Liverpool's year as European Capital of Culture and our major translational project.
At Liverpool's invitation, these six cities have come together to explore their roles as historic ports and their sense of themselves as city-states, as islands within their nation.
To explore these edgy and creative characteristics, Liverpool is welcoming hundreds of European artists, professionals, and young people to share and exchange ideas and experiences throughout 2008.
The programme is a series of explorations, exchanges, debates, conferences, films and publications which will demonstrate not just the shared glories but the shared problems.
