About Northwest Regional Development Agency
The Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) is responsible for the sustainable economic development and regeneration of England's Northwest and has five key priorities:
- Business Development
- Skills and Employment
The NWDA is proud to be an Official Partner of Liverpool, European Capital of Culture 2008. The city's designation as Capital of Culture is not the beginning of its renaissance, but recognition of what it has already achieved. That is why the NWDA supported the bid and the agency undertook a number of activities to promote regional support for Liverpool.
The agency will now be investing ú2m over the next four years to assist the Liverpool Culture Company with the delivery of its cultural programme.
Peter Mearns, NWDA Director of Marketing, said: "Liverpool and Merseyside have an important role to play in pushing forward the economic prosperity of the Northwest, and the NWDA will now build on its support and work hard with all our partners, in Liverpool and throughout the region to ensure that 2008 is another memorable year in the history of England's Northwest."
