Funding

The Capital of Culture Grants Programme 2008 will be open for applications from Monday 3rd September with a closing date of Monday 8th October 2007.

The programme invites voluntary and community groups, public sector arts and cultural organisations and individual artists to apply for grants.

The Creative Communities Fund awards grants of between £500 and £5,000 and has a total allocation of £210,000 to distribute with £30,000 specifically allocated to the Sporting Chance theme where the minimum and maximum awards are £300 and £3,000 respectively.

The Innovation and Development Fund has been split into 2 streams this year with a separate allocation for individual artists. Awards of between £500 and £9,000 are available for voluntary and community groups with a total allocation of £180,000 to distribute; individual artists can apply for awards between £500 and £2,000 against a total allocation of £20,000.

The application process is being administered by Liverpool City Council's Community Resources Unit and hard copies of the application pack can be requested by phoning  225 2316.
